Why Community Groups?

Amplified growth resisting the temptation of isolation

We live in a culture in which time spent with others is held with little value. We’re taught to watch out for me and mine and that includes our time and our schedules. Unfortunately, so many buy into this mindset and sell out on what God has for us, in exchange for what we want for ourselves. God created us to live in community with each other. He knows how much we need each other and how selfish we become when we isolate ourselves from others.

Here’s an example of what happens when we live in community, and what we miss out on when we don’t:

Acts 2:42, 45-47

All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity – all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.

We believe that transformation takes place when we decide to roll up our sleeves and commit to living life together. One of the best opportunities you’ll have to experience spiritual growth is joining one of our Community Groups. Community Groups are small groups of people that gather throughout the week and are committed to taking their next steps toward God. These groups are designed to help us answer the question: “How do I show people who Jesus is every day?”
